New Delhi: A single vaccine for both Covid and influenza...an mRNA-based vaccine has reached the stage of human trials. The study will reportedly begin in the US with 180 participants. #Pfizer-BioEntech# companies have confirmed this information and will test a combined coronavirus and flu vaccine, which could lead to increased vaccination rates that protect people from both diseases.

#Pfizer and #BioNtech have announced that this mRNA-based recombinant vaccine is ready for human trials. With 180 participants in the U.S., the vaccine is advancing to the next phase of study.

The vaccine "could simplify immunization practices against these two respiratory pathogens, leading to a better vaccine for both diseases," said Annalisa Anderson, head of vaccine research and development at US drugmaker #Pfizer.

"Despite the use of current seasonal influenza vaccines, the burden of influenza virus remains high worldwide, causing thousands of deaths each year. Significant numbers of people are hospitalized," said Annalisa Anderson, head of vaccine research and development at #Pfizer.

One of the most popular vaccines to combat Covid-19 was developed by #Pfizer and its German partner #BioEntech.
